Warehouse Storage Solutions

Unlock the Full Capacity of Your Space

Storage Defines How Your Warehouse Performs

Space fills up quickly as inventory grows, and storage starts to compete with flow and production. Expanding your building isn’t always realistic, and inefficient layouts only make movement slower and more unpredictable. Adaptec helps you get more out of the space you already have, designing and integrating storage systems that increase capacity and keep material moving.

Types of Pallet Racking Solutions for Your Warehouse

Selective pallet racking is the most common warehouse storage system, providing direct access to every pallet location. It is ideal for operations with a wide variety of SKUs, changing inventory, or fast-moving products that require flexible and accessible storage.

Main Usages

  1. General pallet storage
  2. High SKU inventory management
  3. Fast-moving product access

Pallet flow racking uses gravity-fed lanes to move pallets from the loading side to the picking side, supporting first-in, first-out (FIFO) inventory rotation. It is commonly used for perishable goods, high-volume inventory, and operations focused on efficient replenishment.

Main Usages

  1. FIFO inventory rotation
  2. High-volume pallet storage
  3. Food and beverage warehousing

Drive-in racking maximizes storage density by allowing forklifts to drive directly into the rack structure. It works best for high volumes of the same SKU and last-in, first-out (LIFO) inventory management where space optimization is critical.

Main Usages

  1. High-density storage
  2. Cold storage environments
  3. Bulk SKU inventory storage

Push-back racking stores pallets on nested carts that move along inclined rails, allowing multiple pallets to be stored deep while maintaining selectivity. It is well suited for medium-turn inventory and operations managing multiple SKUs with limited floor space.

Main Usages

  1. Dense pallet storage
  2. LIFO inventory management
  3. Space optimization projects

Cantilever racking is designed for storing long, bulky, or irregularly shaped materials that cannot fit on traditional pallet racks. It is commonly used in manufacturing, distribution, and industrial storage environments handling items like lumber, pipe, or metal stock.

Main Usages

  1. Lumber and pipe storage
  2. Long material handling
  3. Industrial bulk material storage

Double deep racking increases storage density by storing pallets two deep instead of one, reducing aisle requirements while maintaining organized pallet storage. It is best for operations with larger quantities of similar inventory and lower SKU variety.

Main Usages

  1. Increased pallet density
  2. Bulk inventory storage
  3. Reduced aisle space requirements

Types of Traditional & Automated Storage Solutions

Automated storage system by Adaptec Solutions with organized bins for efficient inventory management.

Storage carousels are an automated material handling system with rotating shelves that move up or down in response to your commands, delivering items to you through ergonomically safe and convenient access windows. These systems are typically used in warehouses and distribution centers to vertically store and retrieve goods or materials. They are designed to maximize storage capacity while optimizing picking and storage processes.

Key Capabilities

  1. Useful for small-to-medium sized parts or components
  2. Ideal for inventory with high turnover rates
  3. Reduces errors and streamlines material handling processes
Industrial steel mezzanine for storage and workspace solutions.

A mezzanine is a standalone structure constructed within an existing building that is designed to make the most of clear space under and above the mezzanine platform, creating supplementary manufacturing, storage, or office space.

Key Capabilities

  1. Standard and custom mezzanine design
  2. Can be disassembled and relocated for scalable solution
  3. Engineered to fit within your existing space
Office pod with glass walls and black framing for flexible workspaces.

Modular offices can be used for clean rooms, foreman’s offices, CNC rooms, QC labs, and sound or paint enclosures. Modular offices can be built on mezzanines, freeing up floor space for work or storage.

Key Capabilities

  1. Facility measurement and layout analysis
  2. Structural installation expertise
  3. Integration with existing operations
Warehouse racking system for efficient storage and inventory management.

AS/RS is an automated system used in warehouses and distribution centers to manage the storage and retrieval of products, materials, and inventory. An AS/RS aims to increase storage density, improve inventory accuracy, and reduce manual labor, and improve overall supply chain.

Key Capabilities

  1. System design and engineering
  2. Rack and structural integration
  3. Integration of software, WMS, and controls

Why Warehousing Teams Choose Adaptec

The Biggest Challenges We Address in Warehousing

Inefficient storage layouts and underutilized vertical space can restrict throughput and future expansion. Adaptec engineers storage systems that maximize available space while improving accessibility and operational flow.

Long travel paths and poorly organized inventory can slow fulfillment and reduce productivity. We design warehouse solutions that streamline picking processes and improve movement throughout the operation.

Limited inventory visibility can create delays, inaccuracies, and operational uncertainty. Adaptec integrates storage and material handling solutions that support better organization, tracking, and inventory control.

Disconnected storage and material movement processes can create backups that impact throughput. Our solutions are designed to improve flow between storage, picking, conveying, and outbound operations.

We stay involved through startup, training, and ongoing service. That includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization as your operation evolves.
