Siewert Equipment Optimizes New Facility with Four Gorbel Crane Installations
Customer Problem
As part of a relocation project to a newer and larger service center, Siewert Equipment was looking to optimize shop flow and functionality. As a distributor and service provider of pumps, process equipment, mixers, blowers, and valves for manufacturers in industrial, commercial, and municipal water markets, a new crane system was designed to expand capacity, improve operational efficiency, and improve safety while handling a wide variety of pump repairs in their facility.
Adaptec Crane Installation
A large drive-in bay was installed with an overhead 10T crane, providing significant load and unload capacity inside the service center. This 10T crane is used to unload large pumps which are subsequently disassembled.
Once the major tear down is complete, smaller under-runway mounted 360-degree, rotating jib cranes are utilized to transfer components out of the main runway and into individual mechanic workstations. The four installed jib cranes servicing different workstations allow for multiple repairs to be in progress simultaneously.
