WS8100 Workstocker for Robots

The Model WS8100 Workstocker for robots is a compact part storage and presentation system, which is ideal for use with machine tending automation. When coupled with a robot or pick and place device, the WS8100 Workstocker frees up valuable operator time. This device may also be used to store finished parts.

How Does It Work?

The WS8100 has two operating modes a normal mode whereby parts are presented for pickup by a robot or other device and a raw/finished mode is used to both dispense raw parts and accumulate finished parts.

To use normal mode, select from the HMI and load a stack of raw parts onto each of the WS8100’s 8 stations and then press the cycle start push-button. The WS8100 Workstocker then indexes and elevates a stack of parts to a fixed position for unload by a robot or other automation equipment. Each time a part is removed from the top of the stack, the stack is raised presenting the next part for pickup.

To use raw/finished mode, select raw/finished from the HMI and load a stack of raw parts onto every other station of the WS8100’s 8 stations and then press the cycle start push-button Note: The lifter plates usually differ between raw and finished stations. The WS8100 Workstocker will then index and elevate a stack of raw parts to a fixed position for unload by a robot or other automation equipment. Each time a part is removed from the top of the stack, the stack is lowered and the WS8100 indexes and elevates the plate from the adjacent station for placement of finished parts and then lowers, bringing the next part up for pick.

Back of the WS8100 Workstocker and its interface to the robot or pick and place device supplied by others. Note the electric lift column in the center, which raises the stack of parts vertically (lifter yoke shown in the down position). Guarding forms a “V” at the top of the lifter and is cleared out for the robot or pick and place tooling access.
WS8100 Workstocker zero clearance doors opened to the left providing access to the to 3 stations for part loading. Both doors are overlapping and may be opened to the right for access to the remaining 2 stations for part loading on the left side of the Workstocker. The remaining 3 stations may be loaded by simply jogging them to the front of the machine. The zero clearance doors are interlocked and must be closed for the stations to be indexed.
